IWD 2018

27 Oct 2022

Not found a way to mark the day?

At Liberal Democrat Women, we have a few ideas.

Our friends at the Fawcett Society will be marching with Helen Pankhurst and Care International on Sunday 4 March 2018. Despite (some) women being given the vote in the UK a hundred years ago this year, violence against women and girls, female genital mutilation, harassment and violence are still far too commonplace - here and around the world.

Sign up to attend #March4Women here.

The Fawcett Society are also working with with indie band Bon Iver on their campaign 2 A Billion to tackle violence against women and girls.

Bon Iver are offering Fawcett supporters the chance to win an exclusive fan package, which includes two tickets to Bon Iver’s sold out show at Eventim Apollo, London, on February 27, one signed poster, one signed “22, A Million” LP, and a '2 A Billion' t-shirt. Place a bid on the package by February 26 to enter.

Some of us are also running events locally to celebrate women and their progress. In Cheltenham, Liberal Democrat Women Chair and Cheltenham Borough Council Cabinet Member, Cllr Flo Clucas, is part of a group running an IWD event:
